Attending the WordCamp NYC 2012 Conference

This past weekend the riff-raff group that is Poka Yoke Design attended the WordCamp NYC conference at Baruch College. We started the day at 8:30am, arriving at the campus to register, grab a t-shirt and a cup of coffee, before heading to different seminars and classes, including Ro Gupta’s lecture on cross-pollination and Disqus as well as Peter Hamilton’s talk about TelevisionDocumentary.com and his path through tv media. We gained some valuable knowledge, met interesting people, and hope to apply what we learned to improve Poka Yoke. But one of the main reasons we were walking through the hallways of Baruch College was to hear our very own Michael Gyura speak about the ins and outs of WordPress exclusively for the beginner set. It was an entertaining lecture with a curious group of listeners who had plenty of questions to keep Mike on his toes. Enjoy some of the photos I took during our visit and watch out for a couple of brief videos that I recorded during Mike’s presentation.

Please notice that Mike misspelled his own last name in his Twitter handle. It should read @mgyura if you are interested in following him.
